Hello,

is it free when i port my XNA-Apps with monoGame using MonoDevelop and publish them on GooglePlay or the Appstore.

Or must I buy a license?

best regards

Hi Boris,

In order to deploy to devices/App stores you would need to buy a Mono for Android/MonoTouch license.

It is however free to develop for using both of the above's trial versions. Be aware that Google's Android emulator is very very slow when handling OpenGL calls. We are talking about single fingure framerates. While on a device it has hardware acceleration and works fine.

The 4.0.3 r2 Android SDK has an emulator that support x86 system images (therefore they can run virtualized on PCs), hardware acceleration (about time), and OpenGL ES 2.0.

To sell an app built with MonoTouch or Mono for Android, you will need

- Apple App Store annual developer fee $99

- Google Merchant publisher fee $25

- MonoTouch/Mono for Android license (see http://www.xamarin.com/ )

- MonoGame is absolutely free.
