Release Notes

This is a small hotfix release. The main purpose is to re-target the Android version of MonoGame to link to the assemblies released as part of the Xamarin 2.0 release. We have also provided a .mpack which is compatible with Xamarin Studio, the old MonoDevelop 3.0 .mpack is also provided.

It also includes the following fixes:
  • Fix template error
  • Fix offsetInBytes parameter in IndexBuffer/VertexBuffer SetData.
  • Fixes the scale applied on the origin in SpriteBatch
  • Fixed render targets on WP8
  • Removed minVertexIndex Exception
  • Fixed some threading issues on iOS
  • Use generic link for opening store on iOS
  • Fix Matrix::Transpose
  • Fixed vertexOffset in DrawUserIndexedPrimitives in GL
  • Keys.RightControl/RightShift Support for WinRT
  • Dispose in ShaderProgramCache
  • IsRunningSlowly Fix

Great framework with a lot of potential. There is a few bug though, but most of them can be worked around! Keep up the awesome work!

I LOVE IT! Although it has a few bugs, it's an amazing framework that is worth trying.

I'm not saying there aren't problems. But if we had given too much credence to some of the comments here we would not have our product pretty much running with a near identical feature set across 4 platforms. Yes, there are problems to overcome, but if you are starting with an XNA codebase, I don't think there is a better solution.

Monogame is a framework with a lot of potential but it's burdened by little documentation and support. Whenever I have an issue, 90% of the time it either gets ignored or they try a little bit and never respond again. I understand that they are volunteers, but if they don't have time to look into certain issues then they need to voice it as such instead of unprofessionally ignoring those issues. If they don't fix those problems then I don't see this framework lasting very much longer. Sorry guys.

This is a very good implementation of XNA, Microsoft's long-abandoned project in favor of...nothing at all. Us C# game coders need a framework besides SharpDX, the C# equivalent of bare DirectX. There are a few bugs though, and the official releases haven't been updated in months. Great potential, but needs to be updated to the latest version of Visual Studio before VS2013 becomes "old".

Totally broken on OSX. I've been trying for weeks to get this working on a mac, and its totally broken. There seem to be no simple ways to get this working short of recompiling a lot of code. Undoubtedly the most windows-oriented "cross-platform" framework I've ever encountered.

Content processors are STILL missing from stable release making this build useless. I'm forced to download the code, build the content processors, only to get an "Wrong MGFX file version!" because something has changed along the development path... Missing: * command-line tools * content processor DLLs and dependencies

Great solution for Android and Windows projects using VS2012! Works very well though not perfect. Haven't tried other OS ports but overall status looks good. Keep it up!

I really like the idea of MonoGame and was looking forward to developing a game on Windows and Mac OS X. Unfortunately, the Xamarin package does not work. Even when you get it to work, you will find you can't load PNGs. I can't wait till this is fixed so I can work more off of my mac book.

Great product, offers lots of opportunity, but (in its current form) crippled by lack of documentation. Expect to spend much of your time solving basic problems (texture handling, audio) by trawling forums or blogs to find solutions. If this product could be documented it would be magnificent.

Hut off for your great work! It works with VS2012. Unfortunately Windows Phone still has the TouchPanel.GetState() Infinity bug.

Monoggame for Xamarin is broken and takes a lot of fiddling and external downloads to install

Packages don't work with the current version of any IDE. They don't work with the latest Visual Studio (which is what the "Visual Studio" link above directs you to) and they don't work with the latest MonoDevelop. What am I supposed to do? Maintain a whole different IDE just for monogame with outdated tools? This is a joke.
